Affordable Vet Care is a well-established mixed animal practice located in rural North Central Missouri looking to hire an associate veterinarian. Our practice is currently 50% Large Animal 50% Small Animal and is located in one of the areas of need for the large animal loan repayment plan options (state and federal programs). We have a large client base for both small animal and bovine medicine with a moderate amount of equine work. If interested, there are numerous potential equine clients in the area to grow our equine services. Our clinic tends to be faster paced with a large variety of appointments seen on a daily basis.
Dr. Shelby purchased this clinic in 2021 and is continually adding new equipment and services. Some of the equipment we currently have includes in-house digital ear cytology and blood morphology, digital direct in-house x-ray, digital CR portable x-ray, 2 ultrasound machines (1 laptop style and 1 IMV goggles style), laser therapy, stance analyzer, in-house bloodwork (IDEXX Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and SNAP Pro), gas anesthesia, electronic monitoring system, continuous zero-touch remote monitoring system (VetGuardian), and 2 portable Foremost chutes with head tables and palpation cages.
Our support team currently consists of 2 customer service representatives, 3 veterinary assistants, 1 kennel workers/animal caretakers, and 1 office manager. More support staff will be hired following the addition of an associate veterinarian. Our team has created a fun-loving culture with a strong drive for continual growth. Several staff members are currently taking college courses towards Bachelor’s degrees and Veterinary Technician programs. We believe in supporting our staff both inside and outside of the clinic and this level of respect has provided the foundation for our team’s continued success.
